The ONLY change the other year was to introduce the third band, the band C fines, for very very high speeds.

Just to clarify slightly, prior to the changes in April 2017 there always was a third band of seriousness. It covered speeds of 101mph to 110mph (in a 70mph limit, with appropriate ranges for lower speed limits). The old guideline penalty was a fine of a week's net income and either six points or a ban of up to 56 days. The new guideline covers speeds simply "101 mph or more" and the suggested guideline penalty is a fine of a week and a half's net income and either a ban of up to 56 days or six points (note the subtle reversal). Supplementary guidance suggests that where the court considers that an offender was "...driving grossly in excess of the speed limit the court should consider a disqualification in excess of 56 days" (though no more than six points can be imposed for speeding).

Well, today was the 14th day after I thought I had been caught speeding (Im treating the day itself as Day 0) and I have heard nothing - I guess it could be 'stuck in the post' but realistically that is unlikely I would presume.

The vehicle is registered to me at my address, I haven't moved .

It is possible of course that I wasn't going as fast as I thought I was, it was a 30mph zone and I would have been well within the limit to go on a speed awareness course, but I think I was worried because not having had a ticket before I looked everything up and saw loads of references to new penalties which involve a hell of a lot more than £100 fines and which are based on weekly wages - my weekly wage may be reasonable but living in the South East and with 3 teenage children means it doesn't go very far!

Thanks for all the advice, I will update this again if the NIP turns up but hopefully all is done and dusted (watch it turn up tomorrow just to wind me up!)
