Speky, get a card which gives you cashback then you'll earn something from your expenses. As Gers says research the credit card thread for the best way to manage the cash flow and the best card to get.0
-
Specky .....ask your company for an expenses float as it does seem they sometimes leave you out of pocket. If you got say £500 then get yourself a card specifically for business use (and you need to be strict on this) then your float should be enough to cover and you pay your float back with your expense claim. Hope that makes sense I have operated like this for many years so it does work. You of course can get a card with benefits too like cash back or rewards but be careful if its a lot or Mr Taxman will chase ya !!!

Morning all! Didn't post much because there's only so many times I can say I've got a bad leg and its making me grumpy.I experimented with not taking a couple of other tablets since it seems to get really bad in the night and was rewarded with 5 hours sleep last night, woop! Will speak to nurses when they ring later [ holistic needs phone call where I get to tell them how bloody annoyed I am - I already feel sorry for the person on the end of the phone] thank you all for the admonishments and good wishes by the way

OL, I passsed my bike test about 4 years ago, I was determined to do it, and I did, since then though, I haven't bought a bike, so he may go off the idea...If he does need to take a test, his instructor will not take any rubbish or boy racer attitude, so there is that..Although I still agree it's definitely not the safest form of travel.
Holly, enjoy your day, hope you get some joy with volunteering. TA, washing curtains? Is that a step too far? I don't think I've ever washed curtains except some I had from a charity shop, except also for nets that is...Nelski, happy list ticking...ad everyone needs a break sometimes...Hester, sounds like there was a cimmunication breakdown there then
SO, how are you doing? Gers, good news about your mam, but now take care of you.
Wotcha Missings...Are you all going to come back like the french show The Returned where something weird and wonderful has happened to you all?

Morning all. Back from holiday last Friday. Found the internet and phone line down so reported it
An engineer came out yesterday afternoon and fixed it. He had to climb the telegraph pole.
I missed all the fun as DS took me shopping and we got home just as he was finishing up.
It's dgs's 5th birthday today. DD has already sent us a.video clip of him opening some of his presents from his other grandparents. He is having a pizza party after school .
We are picking him up from school as DD doesn't ger home unril 4pm. We will catch the bus down and then walk him home. John usually.picks him up on Mondays but the school mummies have rallied round to pick dgs up after John's op.
Well hugs to all. Thinking of poorlies and those who sad. Gers sounds like Mum is doing well. Look after you as well mind. HH Beano looks such a sweetie.
Have a good day folks

Cranky, happy birthday for yesterday.
Thank you very much
I'm not so much missing by the way as ummm.....working. I decided that as the House Troll was old enough to be left by himself during school holidays now, I probably needed to go back to work. I've never claimed benefits, we've lived on my M.O.D. pension and widowed parents allowance so a few extra pennies wouldn't go amiss you know? :rotfl:
Anyhow, I did some messages for my best friend before we went to stay with him in April. He paid what he owed me by cheque and on my way back from paying the cheque in, I saw a notice in a cafe window asking for kitchen help. To cut a long story short the job is mine and I can still take the HT to school every morning as my working hours don't usually start until 10:30 at the earliest. He has to walk home some evenings but that is what the consultant at the hospital recommended for him and he has friends to walk with. The latest that I get home is 4:30 so I'm back in time to make his evening meal. It's a great job and I'm working with some lovely people so it's all good.
Take care all of you

Good afternoon old stylers - I'd like to join you if I may? However there are two provisos which I feel I should share ..... I don't think I'll ever be the early bird that starts the thread - I'm definitely not an early morning person. More importantly although I have reached a reasonable age, I've only just started to understand and embrace o/s ways. I have a goal to retire early in 2 years which was my initial motivation but now I enjoy the different way of thinking and new skills that o/s brings.
I've been inspired and educated by the great folks on this thread.
Rather belatedly, but with great satisfaction I have started baking cakes (see I told you I need L plates on to join the thread) So I'd like to offer a virtual slice of nice (even if I do say so myself) lemon drizzle cake. Other varieties are available but I can only do carrot and orange cake and jam sponge at the moment!!!0 -
Welcome to the thread blackcats. Nice to see you.
Slice of lemon drizzle? Don't mind if I do. Mmm thanks.

Welcome to BLACKCATS - always nice to meet a new face. Mmmm lemon drizzle cake my favourite!
Belated birthday wishes for CRANKY and well done you on getting a new job! After so many years at home that is a giant step you've made. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Didn't do anything yesterday as Saturday was a bit manic and we needed the rest. I've got a bee in my bonnet about tropical fish (we kept them years ago) and wanted to go look at tanks but George isn't keen so we didn't go. No good having a tank if only one of us wants one and since it's George that has to get his hands wet when he has to get any dead ones out cause I'm too chicken, he has the final say.
Shattered this morning, didn't feel or hear the men go to work this morning...I ought to still be asleep as it's childcare day. My little Diva will be here before her brother gets dropped off for school.
Thinking of the poorly ones amongst us, the troubled and bereaved. Thinking of youngest too who is now thinking of not buying a second car....wants a motorbike instead.
Not on my Nelly if I can help it. He's already had to book his first speed awareness course. He'll kill himself!
Many blessings to all.
What about temperate fish? Easier to keep than tropical.0
