Bizarre Amazon Charging Problem
Comments
-
Does it actually say something like
AmazonUKSarl. -£9.59
AmazonUkSarl. -£9.59
Or are you looking at pending transactions? Somethin like
Overall Balance. £100
Available balance. £80.82
If its the 1st example, then money has been taken. If its the 2nd example, then they are just authorizations and no money has been taken.0 -
They are on my bank statements, the actual paper copies that have come in the post?0

Ok so the money has definitely been debited. With regards to the transaction, who does it say has actually taken it exactly? As its very strange that Amazon say that they haven't taken anything.
Does it just say Amazon? Or AmazonUKSarl or AmazonEUarl or Amazon followed by a load of jumbled letters & numbers0 -

You said the bank had "...confirmed the transactions have been taken..." as if you had spoken to your bank and this is what they had told you. Have you actually asked the bank what these transactions are?0 -

But if you cancel your order there will be no need for Amazon to retain any money and they will have to refund both payments.0 -
The biggest frustration is Amazon have traced the transactions using their own numbers from my bank statements but as you can see from the reply I posted they are denying they have actually debited the money. As they are saying they have not taken any money it's unlikely that cancelling the order will suddenly make them change their mind and refund and I will also lose the only link I currently have to the missing charges.0

Have you asked your bank and have they confirmed that the money has left your account and gone to Amazon?0 -

This.
To the OP. After reading back through all the confusion (including mine), your bank is the only entity that can confirm where this money has gone.
So talk to your bank0 -
I have never known Amazon to actually take any money until goods are despatched.0

As I said in my very first post I have spoken to my bank and they have confirmed they are 2 regular charges to Amazon like the numerous others that come out of my bank every month.I have never know Amazon take money before hence the reason for this thread.I have asked Amazon for their UK head office address as I have told them I wish to take legal action against them.I will put all this to them in writing with copies of my bank statements one more time and see if it makes any difference.I am hoping that with it being delivered to their UK office they might see sense as every other correspondence has been directed from an overseas call centre and the nature of the complaint might be getting lost in translation?0
