Fiesta 2006 diesel major coolant leak
Hello everyone
I have an 06 plate 1.4 litre diesel fiesta.
When I top up with coolant it drips out very quickly, I have researched and found many videos of how to change the thermostat housing but the coolant is leaking way too fast for it to be coming from the thermostat housing. The drip falls from around the gearbox side of the engine. Nothing leaking from the radiator. Could it be a hole in one of the pipes? Any advice would be greatly appreciate and my apologies if I have not explained this thread very clearly too.

Without being able to see the vehicle nobody can tell you. You're going to have to get someone to have a look at it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If it's dripping "very quickly", it won't be hard to find the source.0

Most likely a cracked header tank (the plastic one that you top up into). Check for leaks under that its a common problem.0

I had a fairly bad coolant leak on my 15 yr old MK1 focus..the thermo housing was cracked. All sorted after dropping to a localish garage and relieved of £85.
I tried 'locating' the leak but to no avail so gave up in the end..I thought I'd seen an area where coolant was leaking but first mechanic couldn't find it either.0
