Can I be charged an admin fee for a retrospective change in price for car insurance?

Hello all,

I am after some advice as to whether its worth complaining about a £30 admin fee for a retrospective change to my policy made by the company. Do you feel that this is an unfair charge for a mistake they have made themselves?

Why wait until today to ask?
I'm sure there is more to the story than you have posted, often it is user error, the T&Cs would have been proof read before creating a legal document, re-read the T&Cs of the policy offer.

Its common to have extra fees when you change your policy.

I suspect the OP is saying that the ins co made the changes, not that the OP advised them of changes.

The key here will be the nature of the changes ... why were they made? If they found out info about the OP's claims history that hadn't been declared, then a premium adjustment and admin fee will be the OP getting off lightly.
