ESA Contribution based question.

HI, hope someone might be able to offer advice?

I am getting Contribution based Esa and have been placed in the support group.

Due to my illness I will not be able to work anytime soon. I am not getting paid from my employer, but they have not ended my employment yet. My employer is the reason I became ill and my health will not improve if I go back to my old job, it makes me feel sick even thinking about it.

If I resign will this change my claim in anyway? I'm just at the stage where I want to cut all ties with my employer and try to move on with my life.

Thanks

Resigning your job will not affect your ESA award, it is based on the impact your health has on your ability to work.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • Thanks, you have really put my mind at rest.
