Hughes rental missed payment

Hi,
I have over the last 3 years rented a cooker and fridge freezer from Hughes. When I moved into my new property money was tight and I had no option.
I have over this period of time paid over 2500 for this products worth hundreds of pounds. I requested to purchase these last year and was quoted the full price. I could not justify it. I was stuck.
I have recently been made redundant and can not afford the 80 pound per to continue.
Hughes are not an open account on my credit file. There is no mention of them on my credit file.
I have missed a payment this month. If I cannot afford to continue making payments and my account is closed on there end will this appear on my credit file?
My question is if a account you hold with a company is not on your credit file when open can it appear when closed?
Thank you

Check your terms to see if they share data with the CRAs.
If you make no more payments, it may end up on your files in any case via a CCJ.0 -
Have you only checked one
File. I would check all threeMortgage free wannabe
Actual mortgage stating amount £75,150
Overpayment paused to pay off cc
Starting balance £66,565.45
Current balance £58,108
Cc around 8k.0 -
I've tried to find their terms and conditions for you but their web page is useless. Check your contract as they will probably put a non payment charge onto your bill. It sounds like you're renting the items rather then paying in installments so your balance will never go down and you could be renting forever.
Have you looked at Facebook market place or your local Freecycle group to see if anyone has ones that they no longer want? You can send the items back to Hughes once you're able to replace them and you shouldn't have to pay. Save up the cash that you've saved by not paying Hughes to buy the cooker/fridge freezer that you want.0 -
There you are - under sharing info.
Yes, they do share (or at least can share) with CRAs.

I've never heard of Hughes Rental, but trying to charge you the full price for white goods that you have rented/paid well over the odds for for 3 years is just beyond scandalous !
Try telling Hughes that you can no longer afford the £80 per month rental fee, but that you have found second hand/free replacements. Therefore, you want Hughes to remove their goods by X date - and see what they say then. I would think that it would almost certainly cost them more to pick them up and dispose of them than they could expect to get from selling them on as reconditioned/second hand.
Of course, this will probably depend on finding replacement items as per the advice above! Good luck.0 -

Like any other rented good, renting it is not paying towards owning it in the future, unless you are on a rent to own scheme or the like.
I’ve people renting a hose of me, and they have been there for years. I’d still want the full value of the house from them if they now wanted to buy.0 -

Fair point about the house, but that will have (hopefully) retained its value or even increased. 3 year old rented white goods, however, will be worth little more than scrap value.0 -

I rent with hughes and they have a minimum rental period usually 12 months and goods can be returned without a problem after that time and you would have had to sign a rental agreement stating this, so if you genuinely cant afford it anymore then call them and return them0

That makes no sense, if money was tight you could have bought a second hand Fridge Freezer and Cooker for a one off payment of £80. Then saved up for new ones if that's what you wanted.
I can't see how agreeing to pay £80 a month for them was ever the sensible option.0
