What company is this? Sounds like great customer service.Well we had success - they said that because it was obviously a one-off they wouldn't be putting a marker on my husband's file, and they've even refunded the late payment fee! Just goes to show it's worth ringing straight away in situations like this. Thanks for all the advice given

Possibly helped that he's now set up a direct debit. He has hasn't he? You said earlier you'd "suggest" it. In your shoes, and with the worry it was causing you, I'd insist on it!Yes I was surprised, although we'll log on in a few days and check if they've stuck to what they told us as it seems almost too good to be true. It's M&S Bank.0 -

Good news. It also goes to show that, despite people here saying that lenders are obliged to report late payments "because it's the truth", that in fact is not the case. Lenders can essentially report, or not report, what they want.0 -

Not quite true.
A one-off is a one-off.
Continual late payments and such will of course be reported.0
