DHL delivery driver ~ unbelievable!

Last Sunday night I ordered an external HD for OH from the Maplin site.

Received an email from them on Monday afternoon to say it had been dispatched so I checked on the DHL site with the tracking number.

Tuesday morning it said out for delivery at 8.01am so I waited in ALL day which was a waste of time as nobody came.

Tuesday night I checked the tracking again and it stated that delivery was attempted but nobody was at home so they were awaiting further delivery instructions.

I ring DHL on Wednesday morning (Wrexham branch as that's where the parcel was) and told them that nobody had been, no card had been left, so if it wasn't for me being able to check online I would be none the wiser that it had gone back to the depot and they were waiting for me to contact them to rearrange delivery.

They apoligised for no card being left and delivery was booked again for Friday.

I waited in again all day but no sign of the parcel.

4pm, my next door neighbour knocked with my parcel and told me it was delivered there in the morning! I'd waited in all day for nothing when it had been sat next door all day, all because the driver didn't leave a card yet again!

Rang Wrexham branch again to let them know I was unhappy but they fobbed me off saying they would have a word with the driver.

Yesterday morning there was a knock at the door ~ there stood a man (he had to be in his 50's) with a parcel. He looked me up and down, then looked me up and down again (and I mean that literally, he made me feel very uncomfortable!)

He told me, in very poor English (I'm guessing he was Polish maybe?) that he had a parcel for next door and asked if I could sign for it.

I took his board from him, signed and noticed 'DHL' on the page.

Then we had this conversation....

Me - Did you by any chance have a parcel for me yesterday?

Him - Yes, I leave it with your neighbour!

Me - I was home all day yesterday, you couldn't have called here

Him - I leave with your neighbour!

Me - Why didn't you leave a card if you had tried to call here?

Him - I don't leave card I leave package with your good friend, your neighbour!

Me - I waited in ALL day for nothing, if you had left a card I could have got the parcel from my neighbour in the morning instead of sitting at home waiting when I had other things to do.

Him - no need for card, i leave package with your good friend, I know they will give to you!

By this time I was stunned....good friend? !!!!!! is that all about?!

I told him to go and leave a card with my neighbour so off he trotted.

Couple of hours later, I knocked next door to see if they were in which they were. I handed the parcel over and asked if they had a card to say it was with me, they hadn't AND nobody had called there as they had been in all morning!

So, if you are waiting for a parcel, don't expect a card through your door letting you know where it is or has been left, try asking your 'good friend' to see if they have it
