alternative to thunderbird??

Hiya

I have always used thunderbird to download emails, but it has decided to stop working- no idea why. Have cleaned up my pc, and reinstalled it, but it just wont download any emails.

Anyway, so I thought I'd try another mail client - can anyone recommend one? I have btinternet.com email addresses.

Thanks

Have you configured your account after re-installing? e.g. set up the POP3 and SMTP servers.

Try the Opera browser. It has a built in email client. Very fast and convenient.

Yes- I'm pretty sure I have. I put the settings the same as they were previously - when it was actually working!

It lost all my emails, and just won't download any more - keeps saying 'downloading message 1', and not getting past about 67% - very annoying!

Thanks - I don't want to change to another browser though. Unless you mean I could use Opera just as an email client?

Tbh, I'd rather get Thunderbird working again, but it doesn't seem to be happening :-(

Just double check all your settings, in cases like this I often find a comma instead of full stop somewhere.
    Move along, nothing to see.

have just double checked, and they all seem ok. I have the Pop mail server as mail.btinternet.com port 110

this is what they were set at before and they worked ok...? Should I try changing them? I'm hopeless at techie things which is why I'm thinking it might be easier to just find another client- lol

Try logging into your account using the web based email and check what this message is. you could temporarily move it into another folder out of your inbox and then your Thunderbird may work as before.

Evolution is a nice client that now has Windows XP support. It's typically a Linux client.
