Possibly a sticking diverter valve. could be the motor is on the way out.0

When you say "no hot water" were you getting any water at all..?
Could be the diverter valve sticking (Many are non motorised although some are). Also the pressure sensor that detects when the tap is open and fires the boiler up could be faulty. Intermittent fault on the main circuit board, perhaps?
Either way, it's probably going to be beneficial to get it fixed now, than have it fail at 5pm Christmas eve...0 -
Hi we were getting tepid water but not hot upstairs0

We have got a similar problem but the water is not warming at all even though we can hear the boiler making a noise when a hot water tap is turned on. The pressure meter is at zero but the central heating is working as normal so there must be water going through. We have an ecomax vaillent boiler.0
