Car had fault from being new.
Hi so this has been an ongoing issue with my granddads 2015 vauxhull astra. He bought it brand new from vauxhull in 2015, has only ever had it serviced at vauxhull.
Since 2016 (car was roughly 6 months old) he has continually reported to them his clutch was sticking in and has been in multiple times under warranty but they could never find anything wrong but they replaced a hydraulic pipe and the master slave cylinder in 2018 but before the warranty was over he was still reporting it was still happening.
The warranty has lapsed (over 3 years old now) and vauxhull are saying he has to pay £100 for them to look at it and decide if they can find a fault and if they do raise a technical case to see if it can be covered under warranty.
Now my view is there is paperwork proving this has been an ongoing issue since the car was 6 months old and the issue was never rectified and (this is where any advice would be great) since this had been an issue that was reported 5+ times my view is it is still vauxhulls responsibility to put right as they never fixed the continually reported issue while it was covered.
Had this occurred out of warranty i would accept it was his burden to pay but as its never been fixed i believe its the dealers responsibility to correct at no cost to my granddad as in 3 years they never fixed it. Also this seems to be a common issue when searching astra k clutch sticking down.

Not sure what you are asking here, as the final paragraphs start 'in my view in my view'.
However obviously the episode is not based on your view.0 -
Have you spoken to Vx customer service?0

Was the fault ever replicated by one of the VauxhAll's technicians?
Sounds like he has put up with the fault for 4 years....what has changed, warranty nearly going to expire?0 -
Yes they said he will need to pay £100 for the dealer to look at it and if they deem it to be something that can be covered under warranty then they may do something called "technical case"
But my point is as this has been an ongoing issue that has been reported since the car was 6 months old it is a manufacturing defect. We have paper work stating "customer reports clutch sticking" from 2016,17,18.0 -

Because he needs his car for work hes 68 works 6 days a week sometimes and he really did not have the time to be running it down to Vauxhall as he has to open and close health centres.
It originally was just a odd occurrence but in the las 2 years has gotten really bad i would say dangerous.0 -
If he needs the car then pay the £100, get it inspected and get it fixed. You can argue about the warranty and who's liable once you know what the fault is and if it can be fixed.0
