Blue Screen Win XP

I'm running XP SP2 and every time I boot it gets as faer as booting windows and a blue screen appears.
The message I get is
"Unmountable_boot_volume. Disable memory options. Tech info 0x000000ED
(0x856D3C08, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I tried going into the bios to change memory settings but find nothing about memory there
Its a Packard Bell AMD54 3400+ 2400Mhz wwith 1gb memory

Can anyone help?

    That sounds like a bad hard disk I'm afraid. See if you can get an Ubuntu live CD and boot from it. That'll tell you if the data on the disk is readable and give you an opportunity to recover any personal data.

    Aside from that, you probably need a new hard disk and then you can reinstall windows etc onto it using your recovery CD's.

    Get your XP disk out and follow the instructions on this page

    As above quote, ive repaired a few pc's with this problem and found this works sometimes.
