Used as general fertiliser, your roses will love them, as will your dog if you have one, so make sure you rake & water them in


I use in pots before planting up, around fruit bushes, anywhere that needs a bit of a boost + slow release. They pong a bit so don't apply if you have a BBQ planned that day

Chicken pellets are a fertiliser.

Not had my chickens for about 5 years but there is still very clear patches where their run went as it moved around the lawn. Grows much quicker and is incredibly green.

Just don't use them on ericaceous (acid-loving) plants like rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, blueberries and heathers.

You may want to top up chicken pellets with an additional potassium fertiliser e.g. sulphate of potash, but you could always alternate!
