any so called "fine" or "penalty" was always £100 , but discounted by 40% if paid by a certain date (the early discount bribe)

it didnt magically increase to £100 , it was always £100

this is a complicated issue due to bylaws with the 6 month rule , magistrates courts not civil courts and the TOC that could take these to a MAGS court

you need to gen up on the whole topic, and there are dozens or hundreds of threads about the INDIGO (now SABA) sc@m on here over the last few years , it may be new to you but its mainly old hat to the rest of us

there is even special mention of it in the NEWBIES thread, plus use the search words CM gave you

she is correct that you need to trace what is causing the issue and correct it , otherwise this will carry on ad nauseum

if these are actual penalty notices, they will time out after 6 months , as mentioned earlier


the full VRM details should be put into the ticket machine , not just 4 characters

LOL, a hundred or more on here. Nothing happens, nothing can, not with fake 'penalties' (NB TO NEWBIES - THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN A PARKING CHARGE NOTICE).

That's what the forum search is for, and it works well if you just search the forum for a few keywords, in your case:

I did already tell you this yesterday, the idea being you'd find all the search results and know this is safe to do.

Change the ADVANCED SEARCH to 'show posts' (never 'threads').

Anyway I am more concerned that you are still getting these penalties like confetti.

Are you failing to put your VRN into the machine? You aren't just paying by card without also typing in the full VRN are you, or do you have a custom numberplate maybe, that makes the machine glitch? Or you typed in only the numbers, or only the letters from your numberplate? Or the keypad has a glitch?

These car parks with ANPR working alongside a machine, need the VRN put in every time to tally the ANPR image - sorry if that's obvious. I am trying to get to the bottom of this error.

Is the machine printing a ticket that has your FULL VRN on it, every time?

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Ok, had to be away with various things in my life, not least endless blood tests etc...As I had a mini stroke few years back so this time of the year I have to an annual check-up.

I started to look into the so in total i have received 7 of these fines.

Interesting facts are:

1. None of the pictures in the fines are clear. They are dark and it is difficult even to make out the car itself. Let alone the reg no.

2. The issue seems to be that when I paid for the tickets I only ever used the first four characters of my reg number because once the machine has found your car, it beeps and shows the amount. This is a fact that I told them about, in my first appeal which was rejected even though I sent them proof of payment.
3. I have now, *sigh* learnt that my wife when cleaning, threw out the tickets that I had set aside to send to the Saba company.

I still have prof of payment as I always paid through Monzo card which records payments at real time.

I am about to send my reply for these tickets which will have one ticket - the wife forgot to threw this one out that shows 4 characters from my reg number and tell them about this and tell them to look for 4 characters from my reg no and they should find it. I am tempted to SAR them so I can see what they have.


In my eye, I paid fairly and squarely. They take me to court it won't change the fact I paid. I paid why should I be in this predicament?

On their machine it clearly says type few characters from your number plate and find your vehicle? This few characters get printed on the ticket- that's laughable as they don;t claim not to find the tickets.

Will not doing anything result in any action taken by them?

I am confused.com right now - sorry got conflicting messages. Can this outfit take me to courts?

Yes something will happen - you will get various threatening debt collector letters trying to put the fear of God into you.

Laugh at them, file them under C for crap.

Follow the advice of Coupon-mad and ignore - you won’t get any better advice on here.
