Woolies had (and probably still has) little dress-up costumes. Little fairy outfits with satiney dresses and wings and feathery wands and stuff. I have seen them in several places. We got one for a goddaughter who was two last Christmas and I was told she loved it. They love to play dress up!

Our eldest has just turned 3...she is into girly things & loves dressing up, bracelets & necklaces, wands (got a fab plastic one which lights up), wings...

Depending upon the parents what about some arts & crafts stuff? We love getting the stickers out, or glue & glitter, or paint etc...you could include some card etc to make thankyou cards...oh stamps for stamping too!

What about a pretty bag with some "bits" in it from Claires, purse, hair clips, necklace...

    Good luck

Love the suggestions above how about a girlie bag as suggested with some cute P.J.'s and slippers with a cute doll for cuddling at night. Also this age like the dolls to learn to dress eg zips, buttons.

Can also second (or is it now third and fourth) play food. my ds is four and still sometimes plays with his. I got some in asda I think but elc do them too (there is a 20% off code kicking round somewhere ...do a google). It velcros together and comes with a little wooden 'knife' for chopping up and a chopping board. great fun!

Love the girlie bag suggestion from sethsgran too, nice idea.
You could also include some nice bedtime stories.

My daughter is 16mo and loves to dress up (in fact, I caught her in my room with one of my tops round her waist, looking in the mirror and pretending to put lipstick on!)
She also loves the play tea sets.
And her 'babies' she loves her babies. She's a bit too young to appreciate different clothes and nappies, etc, but she loves to cuddle them :)

  • i would also go with the play food idea, my 2 year old DD loves hers and it will go well with the kitchen you said she is getting. alternatively you could get her a till, my DD has one from woolies that she uses to play with her pretend kitchen as a shop/restaurant and i have also seen trollies filled with play food in argos.otherwise maybe something to go with her dolls like a pram, buggy, highchair, cot etc. woolies had a fisher price set on offer from £25 down to to £15 which had most of those things in.
  • I love the tea set, think I might get one of those for my daughter who is 2. If you are really stuck for ideas books are always popular with children of this age, even though they can"t read themselves they really enjoy having stories read to them and it encourages them to start asking questions about things as well. Hope this helps.

  • i have a 2 year old daughter who is very girly along with most of her friends. for their birthdays they have all been given a funky jewellery box with a special item (cute silver bracelet etc) that i got from argos as they are not too expensive and as i make my own jewellery i made them each a one off item. these were very popular and my little girl now has 2 jewellery boxes full of bits purely as she helps herself to the items i have made and puts them in her boxes! hope this is of some help
