Help - buying for a 2yo girl

Hi All,
Hoping you might be able to give me some ideas!
We don't have / know many kids which is why we're struggling.
Need ideas for a Christmas present for a 2yo girl, her dad's told us she's into 'girly things' and is getting dolls / a kitchen play set / my little pony. However, we'd rather buy her something a bit different to the usual sets you pick up in woolies etc as I know she'll get stacks of these and I hate to think what we buy will just get dusty under the bed! (We're getting her older brother a Transformers duvet set)
We want to spend about £15-£20
Thanks

Why dont you buy clothing? Its something that will get used, so a nice jumper or something then a toy to go with - or books are good, they can always be passed down to other LOs in time. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

If she is getting a kitchen couldn't you get some play food for her? I have recently bought some wooden sandwiches etc for ELC but they also do cakes and other bits and pieces

I got my brother to get this for my 2 year old last Christmas and she loves it. Its special and only allowed out if mummy or daddy are there. We have lovely tea parties and I am sure it will last for years as it is made of wood. Gracie, our little girl knows it is a treat to play with it and is already very fond of it.

If I'm stuck I get a book token
at least that way they'll hopefully get some pleasure out of it and it will improve their minds. Can't bring myself to buy girly stuff alas....

I agree with the play food/tea set idea I know my 18 month old is really into these at the moment, other than that I'm always pleased when she receives books, you can never have too many of those.0

My 2 grand daughters love things for their dollies like re-usable nappies, a potty, magic bottles which make the milk look like "baby" is drinking it, carrycot, blankets, baby clothes etc.
They also have a kitchen, with pots and pans, fake food and appliances and have had hours of fun.
Otherwise, a cd of nursery rhymes and children's songs to sing along.Felines are my favourite
