Energy estimated readings
Hi,
Wondering for any advice. I moved into a rented flat in 2017 and have had estimated Meter readings since I moved in. I have recently moved suppliers and now being older and wiser I wanted to submit meter readings.
This has left with an "offset bill" with my old supplier of 564 pounds. I can't afford this and I don't know how to tackle this situation as I do believe it's down to my own error.
Thanks

They may allow you to pay in instalments. Valuable lesson learnt! Submit actual readings every month and never have bill shock again.0

You are correct it is down to your own error.
Ensure you give readings at least every month.
Regarding the outstanding £564. Have you spoken to them regarding a payment plan?
I am assuming they are not permitting the move because of the amount owed? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
What happened when you moved in?
Did you ring the existing supplier and give them your readings (and did you take a photo) ? If you didn't - then the supplier might have a reading from the previous tenant (which may or may not be correct) - or did you landlord give a reading.
If the £564 does prove to be true that's about £25 a month.
Have you any readings post May 2017 ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

£564 is £23.50 a month for two years or £47 a month for a year.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
