Electric cars - pre-ordering
VW are inviting people to pay a £750 refundable deposit for the option of being able to place an order for the ID.3 later this year (delivery in 2020). You won't be able to test drive the vehicle before placing an order.
VW are believed to have put a 30,000 limit on European pre-orders - at £750 a time VW will have £22.5m sat in the bank!

Honda have announced a similar pre-order scheme for the Honda e.

Given the long lead time for small electric cars, and the deposits are fully refundable, it looks like it could be worth doing if you are interested in an electric car?
