                    Hi,
I'm looking at the Amex Platinum Everyday credit card offering 5% cashback in the first 3 months.
It says in the card info:
"You need to spend at least £3,000 on the card each year to get any cashback."
My question is: Can the £3,000 be spent on anything or does it have to be spent in shops? I'm planning on booking a holiday in the next few weeks. Would online payments for flights, hotel bookings etc. with this credit card count towards the £3,000?
Your advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Erica

Yes, those payments would count, but be aware that Amex is not good for foreign currency transactions. The non-sterling fee would exceed the cash back.Shocking_Blue wrote: »Would online payments for flights, hotel bookings etc. with this credit card count towards the £3,000?0

Any in-store or online transaction counts. Just not cash advances / Foreign Currency, neither of which are easily available with an Amex anyways (and should be avoided).
Hotels & Flight bookings are great examples where a cashback card comes in handy as you can get a small chunk of your spend back as cashback/rewards!0

Many thanks for your detailed answers and the additional advice on how (not) to use the card. Great job!! 0 0
