There were plenty of similar vehicles being advertised at £10-11k a month ago. The insurer are under no obligation to replace like-for-like, because that may simply not exist.
IIRC, you were also complaining that London prices were higher... So if it's cheaper to travel and buy than to buy locally, you should travel. The nice thing about cars is that they're quite easy to move from one place to another.0 -
Your insurance co is obliged to put back to a position before the accident occurred. I would accept the offer and move on with your life. Not worth stressing out over a notional couple of hundred quid.
Their assessor would have likely used Glass's or similar guide for the valuation. From reading this board and others the exceptions are rare/classic cars when general motor insurer assessors don't have the expert knowledge.0
