Patio above DPC with Aco Slot Drain?

Hi
We would like a patio built flush to our low threshold bi fold doors so the floors indoor and out flow.
However this means we would have to build it above the damp proof course by 2 bricks (there is an airbrick to consider also) and would use an aco slot drain to keep the modern look.
We get such conflicting views from the builders. Some are saying yes its fine we've done it loads of times using the aco drains all round the building and other builders saying don't do it where would all the water go and what if there is a sudden heavy rainpour the drain wouldn't cope etc!
We even rang our local building inspectors and they said should be fine with an aco drain but obviously I am still worried if we come to sell and the survey picks up on it or if we are risking damp.
Has anyone done this or got any experience?
Thanks

Make sure you read the whole article.
You may also want to do some research into permeable paving in addition to drainage channels including sizing the channels and not going for the smallest cheapest option
With regards the air brick you would need to change it for a periscope air brick as opposed to a straight one. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0 -

Thank you much appreciated, I will have a read and keep weighing up the options.0
