Whatsapp group privacy settings

Options
I have the latest version of whatsapp, it updated today, but I still dont have the new group privacy settings that supposedly rolled out a couple of months ago. (where you can select to stop being automatically added to group chats) Any ideas?

At the moment i think the privacy group setting is only in the beta stage and is only available to beta testers right now. I'm on IOS and don't have the setting on my phone either.

In order to use the Android beta version you will need to get it through the Android Play Beta Testing Programme otherwise you will have to wait until it is fully rolled out to all WhatsApp users.

The link below explains in more detail.

Whatsapp on my Android phone updated on 10th May ... but it also doesn't have such features yet, so post #4 likely covers the reason why. :)
  • If you care about privacy, don't use WhatsApp.

For years anyone with the knowledge has been able to remotely turn on your camera, microphone or install anything they want on your device (iPhone or Android). Same "bug" two different platforms.. what are the chances, it was clearly a deliberate Facebook backdoor ...

Got this from my police messages a few days ago

"WhatsApp users are being urged to make sure their apps are up to date following a vulnerability which could have allowed users phones to be compromised.

Affected versions of the app relate to:

WhatsApp for iOS prior to v2.19.51
WhatsApp for Tizen prior to v2.18.15
WhatsApp for Android prior to v2.19.134
WhatsApp Business for iOS prior to v2.19.51
WhatsApp Business for Android prior to v2.19.44
WhatsApp for Windows Phone prior to v2.18.348

Always make sure your software and apps are kept up to date and switch on 'automatic update'.

My version is 2.19.134 but there are no obvious group privacy settings that I can see.
