Hi all,
Around 3 weeks ago I was notified that my role was at risk of redudnacy. It was then notified that some new jobs will be available and the people at risk could apply for them.
I applied for the job and got it, but not at the place where I currently worked, at another site significantly further than my home.
I have recevied nothing in writing yet regarding the new job (contract etc) I started at the new site this week and are very concerned about the distance over the longer term.
I have heard about a 4 week trial period, how does this work?
Kind regards,
B

You gave up a trial period by applying for the job rather than only considering it as a potential suitable alternate.
Why apply if it was not suitable?
The company may accept a trial and it was only a potential suitable alternative.
You will have to ask them.
They may even say it is a suitable alternative.0 -
Hi,
I applied for the new role and presumed to be at the location where I was. I was told at the interview am I happy with other locations and I said yes, but the current one is much too far.

Best course of action would be to speak with your manager or HR to discuss your options. Tell them you're not happy with the distance and see what they say0
