Old Style Daily Tuesday 14th May

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Good morning everyone :hello:
I think it's going to be another beautiful day here, I can hear the seagulls calling and it makes me think I am on my holidays :rotfl:.

Phoebe is up and getting ready for work and everyone else is still fast asleep. Steve is on his last day home before he goes back to work tomorrow. It has been really lovely having him here all day and the dogs have appreciated the extra walks. He is practically fully recovered from his cataract op and the difference it has made to him is amazing. He can use his camera properly again and has even been watching the tv without needing his glasses on.

Lee has an interview next week for college to do a catering course. It's something he is really interested in and of course he does do a lot of cooking at home. He wants to go to the interview on his own as part of being independent so I will wish him luck and send him on his way. I hope he gets in but we shall see.

The grandchildren will be here after school to stay for a couple of nights. I will chuck some baked potatoes in the oven for dinner tonight and make some cheesey beans and tuna mayo for toppings.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Good morning and thank you for starting today's thread Dumpling. Wishing Lee good luck for his interview!

I have the washing machine chugging away, it looks lovely outside and I am making the best of it.

More sorting and packing today, then tomorrow we get keys and start moving things to the new place. There may be a couple of days without Internet, not sure, but if you don't hear from me, that will be the reason.

Wishing everyone the best day you can have, with particular thoughts for the unwell, sad or worried.

And what another beautiful morning it is.

I made the most of yesterday's good weather, went for a walk along to a friends to drop off a birthday present for their little one. It's about half an hour each way and even though it's all along roads and past houses it was lovely to be out in the warm sunshine.

More washing is on the line this morning, just about to go for a shower before swimming and work.

Good luck with the move AOD.

Have a good Tuesday, take care. XX

    Morning everyone

dumpling - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH and DS1 now getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and just finished my porridge. DS2 settled and ok.

Blue sky and bright sunshine to start the day here, forecast is the same all day. Put the washing in the WM last night but forgot to turn it on, so it may not be finished before I leave for work for me to peg out on the line.

Dinner last night was gammon steaks, egg, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg. I remembered to get the chicken portions out to defrost, I'll be roasting them tonight - I'm staying later at work tonight as someone is one holiday and they need someone to replace them. Dinner may well be the chicken portions roasted with LO veg, mash and gravy.

Yesterday work was manic, but did ease off in the afternoon, we'll see how today goes.

    Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks DUMPLING. Another glorious day in store for us all the weatherman says.

The decorator is due early doors again. Poor chap was sweating cobs yesterday sanding, down, filling and preparing. I am feeling guilty at watching someone else do the jobs I used to do but there comes a point when you have to admit defeat, give in to advancing years and get someone else to do it.

I shall be out of the way today as I am meeting my Tuesday buddy for coffees, lunch and a wander round town. I am already salivating at the thought of the Broccoli and Cheese bake which is currently my weekly fix!

Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely who need them. Take care all xx

Looks to be a nice day here again but there is a bit of a breeze atm. Off to work for me and the lovely Tuesday group who are far quieter than Mondays !!

My overnight oats were lovely yesterday and kept me full till lunch time so I have made more today, I need to get a bigger selection of frozen fruit to put in.

Pasta for dinner with dough balls and salad so a nice easy dinner. Need to do a wash tonight too and post an eBay parcel.

Dumpling good luck to Lee for his interview xx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone

It is lovely bright sunny start to the day here. Yesterday it was so much warmer than it has been lately. It gives me hope that I will soon be able to have short wanders around and spend some time in the local parks or sitting outside a caf! people watching again.

I'm another one having their hair cut this morning and while I'm out I will treat myself to a coffee and cake in a local caf! in town. I want to pick up a couple of birthday cards while I'm out as well.

The housework can wait while the weather is so good.

    TA enjoy your day.
Dumpling good luck to Lee for his interview.
RR I'm another one who is a fan of overnight oats and keep a lot of frozen fruit in to use in them.
AOD good luck with the move.
    SO hope you are ok.

Take care everyone, have a good day x

    Morning everyone.

Another sunny day ahead I think.

The window cleaner came yesterday, he scares me as he hops out of the windows to stand on the ledges to do the outsides. Later I took in the fish and chips to DM and another patient. It was what we call a 'single fish' and a portion of chips. A single fish is two pieces of fish so it was perfect. DM sat and devoured her food without speaking a word. They both thoroughly enjoyed it and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them.

Today I'm doing my postponed tip run and return to JL before visiting. I've got a couple of pieces of work to finish off which I must give attention to.

Dumpling - my fingers are crossed for Lee, what a remarkable son you have there.

AOD - good luck in your efforts.

TA - you're making my mouth water too!

Redruby - oats don't fill me up at all, it's very strange, wish they did.

    Happy Tuesday to all.

Morning all. Having a cuppa in bed before having a shower. We are off to Weymouth today so need to put the last few things in my case.

Dumpling good luck to Lee for next week. TA the stairs and hallway will look great when he's finished. Gers lovely picture of two ladies enjoying their takeaway. Bless them.

Well up and at 'em. Have a good day all.
