Cost of Solar
Options
Just had a quote from Project Solar and they’re good to install end of the month. Ten 330kw panels and inventor for £8314.25, labour £923.81. Total £9699.95. Pay off over 10 years at 7.9% being £114.45 pm. First off is this a reasonable deal for the panels? From what I’ve read it already seems steep never mind the loan interest. What are people’s thoughts? Where could I go for a better quote?

You would be better off asking this question in the Green and Ethical forum https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=100 where the solar gurus hang out.0 -
Cannot see the point - there are no FIT payments so you'll never ever manage to break even. Say you manage to save £200 a year it would take you 48 years to pay it all back
Just my opinion you understandNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Ten panels for nearly ten grand is pretty steep. I'd not bother.

That sounds really expensive - the equipment costs seem really high, but then I don't know what you've been specified.
Suggest having a look at the two links below for a typical guide to parts costs - but of course there will be additional costs for the fitting kits and wiring:

No, that is not a good deal. This is what I do for a living although offer very little retrofit. System that size should be under £6k with top notch kit unless there is a very difficult scaffold or electrical job associated with it.
I would advise you check with other installers in your area and try and stay away from the national companies. Use the MCS register to find an installer and check they are local to you.

Hope this helps.0 -
Some good advice here. Basically NO, and if you go on the Green & Ethical forum they'll be even more direct! Hope you haven't committed to anything, appalling deal.0
