Warranty for a discontinued kitchen

My partner and I recently completed on our first time home so we're completely new to all of this and thought this would be a good place to get some advice.

In our kitchen we have two damaged cupboards where the gloss coating has lifted and there is a bubble between the gloss covering and the door. The house had a new Magnet kitchen fitted in 2012 and is therefore still under warranty and the previous owner has provided all the receipts etc.

I have been in touch with Magnet who have been very helpful so far but gave us some bad news that this particular kitchen has now been discontinued and therefore they can not provide replacement doors. Since they have attempted to order the doors through 'hospital stock', however this has also been unsuccessful so far.

I am wondering where I would stand with this? Obviously 7 years old is not old for a kitchen and we can not afford to replace the entire kitchen just for the sake of these two doors (which are an eye sore). If Magnet can not provide these doors do they have an obligation to help in any other way given it is still under warranty, and the doors clearly have a defect?

Any advice would be appreciated!

7 years old for a kitchen is probably well into its lifespan. Also at 7 years old you are well outside the time limit to legally pursue any claim. You are entirely reliant on Magnet's guarantee and goodwill. As it appears to be a cosmetic problem, I would just forget about it. You will find as a homeowner you will encounter far more important and (sadly) expensive problems as the years pass.

The original purchaser may have passed on all receipts to you but is the warranty itself actually transferrable?

Search eBay etc for the doors as there will be some around somewhere.

If you can't get replacements are they 'makeable' by a decent carpenter?

Or, replace all the doors as the carcass / worktops will be fine.

You could see if there are spare doors on Ebay. We found two there for our discontinued Magnet range when we needed two more for a new boiler.

Many competitors do the same kind of kitchens as Magnet, so you could try one of those for a close match. It's possible you might need to buy a whole base unit to get the 2 doors, but worth it if it restores the good looks to your kitchen,
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
