VIN number
Hi a friend rather stupidly has given their cars VIN number to a parts seller on e bay so they could locate the correct part.
The issue is the seller isnt responding to the messages the friend is sending them.
Is the car at risk of being cloned and who should they tell about this.

On a lot of cars the VIN number is viewable through the windscreen so hardly secret.0

Go and look at any vaguely modern car parked in the street. Look in the lower left corner of the windscreen. See that 17 digit alphanumeric string on a nicely visible plaque? That's the VIN...0

You can get VIN number from reg plate on certain pages, no need to ask someone for VIN to do something bad with it.0
