  • Thanks Keith,

If anyone has any feedback on my witness statement, it would be much appreciated.

Very good, but you can add this as evidence:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom

''The letter O and the digit 0 are intentionally identical, as are the letter I and digit 1.''

Older plates, like abc123d did not use the 'letter O' but did use the number zero, but newer plates can have either or both and the digit is the same.

Britannia know this, and had your correct plate from ANPR data all along, so they KNEW what the digit was. Also, why does their machine keypad not just have one '0' (to mean the letter or number) and one 'I' (to mean that letter or number) you might ask the Judge to consider...it is setting people up for a fall that is not a contravention and is an unconscionable penalty with no 'commercial justification'. Thus the opposite of the parking charge in Beavis.

Also add the full wording from post #14 of the ABUSE of PROCESS thread by beamerguy which mentions, name & shames Britannia as adding fake costs. YOU MUST attack the fake £110 add-ons because your Judge might not realise the Beavis case makes them unrecoverable.

    Well, some very good news........

I received a letter from BW Legal yesterday and enclosed was Britannia Parking's Notice of Discontinuance!! What a result :T

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to advise me in the my fight against these bullies.

One final question, can I claim back costs for time taken to prepare my defence when it is discontinued?

Thanks again all, you guys are flipping fantastic!
  • Three Cheers for BWL (they really do need some encouragement these days!)

    Great news!

Hooray - another one bites the dust!

You can copy the example of BlueToffee which is linked in the NEWBIES thread where I talk about claiming costs. You can try but you might not get.

  • Inydaisy - I am just reading the Newbies thread for the 20th time :D
I noticed this wording which applies to you now...

"and if a firm does discontinue (e.g. CEL often do, rather than attend a hearing) then write & claim your costs!

    Here's how Bluetoffee1878 did it:

and LoadsofChildren123 wrote a longer version that she links here, to reclaim costs after a discontinuance:
