Safari and youtube

Macbook air OSX 10.9.5

As soon as I open you tube I get the following message
"safari web content quit unexpectedly"

Uptil yesterday it was working fine, then this, which includes a full page of garbage (well lots of words and numbers)

Thanks in advance if you have any easy to understand ideas, I haven't added anything btw in the way of apps or new security.

If you can run Safari, and get into the settings, and clear all your cookies, caches etc, then you'll be starting again and hopefully something rogue has been removed. Is Safari up to date?
