Best garden retaining wall?

Hello,
Our back garden is very wide and sloping so we were wanting to build a retaining wall down the middle and make 2 flat levels. Only thing is if we do the full width it's going to be a pretty long wall! Therefore wondering what material is best to use that won't break the bank....? Any advice appreciated

I used Flag-on-Edge for a two-foot tall retaining wall in my garden. Using 900 x 600 mm paving slabs I was able to have 1 foot below ground level in concrete and two foot about ground level.
