Teaching Assistants...resigning process

Just a quick one, as my partner doesn’t want people at work to know (so can’t ask!) about how and when to resign to ensure a August payment?
TA salary is divided into 12 so if she resigns end of June and simply puts August 31st will that guarantee payment for August? If she resigns end of June and puts end of July would this impact? Basically school ends 24th July anyhow, just don’t want her wages impacted for a month?
Any TA or school HR staff able to advise? Thanks

Most school staff need to give a full terms notice so not much choice when she hands her notice in.0 -
It’s 4 weeks, per terms on her welcome email.0

Given you've resigned twice in last 6 months or so from TA (or TA like) roles, aren't you in the better position to advise your partner?Originally Posted by shortcrust

In her resignation letter she should state that she is handing her notice in on this date (july whatever).... and her final leaving date will be (august whatever). Making sure it is four weeks. This way she is following the contact and the employer must also do this. I work as a HLTA in a school.0

There is no need to wait exactly four weeks until you plan to leave to actually resign though, if you wanted to be helpful and let the school have time to find a replacement, you could resign as of now giving 31st August 2019 as your last day and give them more than the four weeks expected notice.0 -
If all that is required is 4 weeks notice couldn't the school simply terminate the employment by giving the required amount of notice? Assuming the person had been there under 2 years so there would be no other process to go through.0
