O/S Daily Sunday 12th May 2019

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Good morning all

Not sleeping too well. Thinking about so many things, can't change any of them. I seem to be exhausted before the day starts.

Looks a sunny day, need to get wm on, hopefully can line dry everything. Garden has been a bit neglected so need to cut the lawn and tidy up a bit.

    Take care

Good morning, and thanks for starting off Siver-Oldie.
it's fine and sunny here as well.

Sorry you aren't sleeping well SO, as you say so much in your mind, but you can't change anything. That doesn't stop you thinking though.
Does Mr SO nap during the day? If so could you rest then as well?
I so wish I could help you.

Nelski, sorry to hear things aren't good for you, I wondered where you were.

Ds and family will be here for lunch, I bought a lovely lag of lamb at our butchers yesterday.
Last night I made some ice cream (I know, it's widely available in the supermarkets!!) and it' turned out really well I've just had a look at and tasted a spoonful

I'll do a bit of washing before they arrive, and a general tidy - not that they notice things like that..

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Take care folks xx

    Morning everyone

SO - thanks for starting us off x

Bright sunshine to start the day here, forecast looks good for today and the coming days. Washing will be line dried as much as possible.

Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH and myself enjoying first cuppas of the day. DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and ok.

Dinner last night was scotch eggs, hot quiche, ham, side salad, HM coleslaw and chips. Lunch today will be pork, roasties, mash, carrots, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, swede, green beans (me only), peas, yorkshires and gravy. Once I have prepped the lunch, I'll organise pack ups etc.

Yesterday we visited the parents, and then had a chilled late afternoon and evening. Today will be similar although we're going to visit my parents again as my bro is visiting - he'll be leaving straight after brekkie, so we need to be visiting early doors.

    Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks SO for starting. I know that feeling well, worrying about things you can't change.

I think we are all forecast a sunny week now the rain has finally passed on. Summer on it's way back again. Lovely.

We were back at the Northern Star dance competition last night and another medal. This time middle DGD won gold with her group ballet dance. We are back again this afternoon when both the DGDs have dances.

Meanwhile this morning I will resume the clearing of the hall and landing to make way for the decorator tomorrow. Just pictures, curtains and shades to get down and wash now so on the home run.

Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all who need them. Take care all and enjoy the sunshine xx

Good morning everyone, it's already bright and sunny with a promise of more heat.

Yesterday I wore my new blue suede shoes, they are so comfortable. As for being 'accidental', I arrived at the shopping centre too early for JL so wandered around, got entranced by the shoe shop window, drifted in and so ended up buying shoes!

Camelot and I met up to have a bucket of coffee and a great chat. She gave me a pot of homemade rhubarb and ginger jam. :T Then I did a little bit more shopping. DM sent me a text to say that the woman in the opposite bed was wearing one of her (DM's) nighties. As it was from Tesco I went there to replace it and found it on the sale rail.

Today I'm taking DM some lamb hotpot in the flask. First I need to to get some green beans as she has requested some. Roll on Thursday.

I hope that everyone has a peaceful day. Happy Sunday to all.

    Morning All

Lovely sunny morning again, the washing will go out when it's finished. I put the bedding straight back on the bed yesterday, it was lovely getting into bed last night!

Lovely meet up with coffee with Gers then spent a good few hours at the allotment yesterday getting everything sorted, I think I've caught up now, just waiting for everything to grow!

Well done to your DGDs TA, enjoy watching them again today.
Thinking of you SO and Nelski.

Off to take DD to Costco today, may browse another couple of shops too (until I get fed up!) and we'll probably get lunch out too.

    Happy Sunday, take care. XX

Last time I had a nap DH decided he should take the kitchen carousel corner unit apart! The repair man is coming Wednesday, makes life easier and less expensive to stay awake.

    Morning everyone
It's a lovely sunny morning here - I have all the cats blankets in the washing machine...they have several dotted all over the house. I'm going out for Sunday lunch today with DD and little grand daughter...going for a drive along the coast and hopefully a walk after we've eaten. Really looking forward to it. First I'll be down with my dad so my mam can go to church.
I had little grand daughter yesterday afternoon and had a lovely time...she is getting so much more aware of everything now and was wide awake and happy for ages.
No other news really....just busy at work
Hope everyone has a good day and the sun is shining for you

    Morning :)

SO I understand that feeling I call it me awfulising everything and at the moment i am an expert. Strange really that when we think of the future it's often the worries that feature not the possibilities. Take care my friend there can be light at the end of the tunnel. I know you dont get any help from your son but I wonder if a grief counsellor could help ....at the very least they would listen :A

    redruby thanks :kisses3:

taff mmm antigua I wish... although Warrington is very sunny today :D

TAcongratulations to your very talented girls :)

camelot thank you and can I join you and gers for coffee next time that sounds like a giggle

Right so I started this just after SO posted and whilst writing I have painted my nails drunk 2 teas and swished the bathroom mmm must focus more. So my visitor arrives at 11 in Manchester after a night flight, she was upgraded to business so will have had a better sleep (why does that never happen to me...I will let you all know her secret)
Have a big lamb roast planned with veg roasts with plenty of HM yorkies as she hasn't stopped asking if we can have them.Apple crumble to finish so a very British dinner. No other plans for today bar sitting in the garden and a catch up. I will do some sandwiches and scones later if we are hungry

Right should get on and make the crumble. Take care all and keep smiling ....I am doing my best on that front. xx
