Problem Neighbours

Hello, I would appreciate some advice. New neighbours moved in a few weeks ago and said they didn't like cats, fair enough.
I have 3,and other neighbours have cats too.
Neighbour has started waiting at the entrance of my door and hisses at them all the time, he mentioned he has other'methods' in his garden to keep them away.
As a result my cats are afraid to go out, and I hate seeing them scared. Any ideas (be nice, I'm a nervous wreck over this and other issues he's caused) thank you.

Whilst I have cats, I accept my neighbours don't like them and as long as they don't harm my cat, I accept they have the right to deter them from their land
I also have chickens who have the habbit of flying over to the field behind us - despite our best efforts - and the land owners dog ate one
Very sad, but then my chicken shouldn't have been on his land0 -

Are you an owner occupier? Is he?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Just to clarify, yes both houses are privately owned.0

What exactly do you mean by "waiting at the entrance of my door"? Where exactly is your neighbour standing?
Unfortunately unless whatever your new neighbour is doing legally constitutes animal abuse AND you can prove it, there is nothing you can do save keep your cats indoors or keep them off your neighbour's land (ie. cat proof your garden). Your cats have no legal right to be anywhere other than on the land that you own. It is UK convention for cats to roam freely.
I am being brutally honest because there is no benefit in skirting around the issue. I am sorry that you are a nervous wreck, and I am sorry that there are other unpleasant issues with this person.

Is there anywhere you can install a cat flap where the neighbour doesn't have access? Maybe through a window that opens into your own garden or at least higher up so they feel safer?0

Thanks Rach, we are sort of doing that. If he is outside they won't go out and instead ask to go out in the back garden. It's a large French window so they ask to come back in that way.0

Do you want to answer the question that two posters have now put to you?
As others have said he can't hurt the cats but he is free to deter them from his property.0 -
Yes Gavin I understand that!0

Obviously he can do what he likes in his own garden, but are you saying he is coming onto your property, waiting, and hissing at the cats? What exactly do you mean by "waiting at the entrance of my door"? Where exactly is your neighbour standing?

Consider CCTV of the front of your own property if you think the neighbour is coming onto your property and harming the cats in any way.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
