Sole Trader joint business account

We have the opportunity of switching our business account(s) to other ring-fenced banks with incentives such as £1000. We chose Starling Bank however, they won't accept a JOINT application for a sole trader's business account, as we have now for RBS.

Any idea why they've made that rule? Such a shame as we'll have to go elsewhere now and I was well impressed with the app. I just can't understand it.

You can't have a joint "sole trader" bank account. By the very nature of being a sole trader, it's one person. A joint bank account is for a partnership.

Why not just set up a single person bank account with Starling.
