I have 5 conifers height reduced approx 18 ins from the top and was charged £170 . To remove a small dead cherry tree he asked £50 but agreed on £30 cash. He was a tree surgeon of two team and had all equipment and left garden tidy and removed all the branches etc. Does this seem a fair quote? I understand this is a highly skilled and dangerous job. Job took 45 mins. Thanks

How high were they? 18" dosent seem muchbit late now if youve already had it done to ask if its fair.0

Completely irrelevant now.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Although the job only took 45 minutes, they had to travel to and from your property, they have to cover all the costs of running a business, such as advertising, accounting, payroll, insurance, running a vehicle, waste disposal etc.
Realistically, you were paying them about £50/hr. This about right for skilled contractors doing short jobs. If it was a days work, you would have got it cheaper.
Also anything you pay to have conifers reduced is good value - I would have got them to remove them completely! The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
