Good morning all! The sun is again shining, I am looking at my compost bin and thinking, well, if I took it slowly, I could probably stick it together...OH has gone out so he can't shout at me...and I can't do anything toorrow as have to go to hospital for an appointment [ yes, I know! on a Sunday!]
There is a piece of beef in the freezer, so I may take that out and unearth the slow cooker [ well, I don't have to unearth it, it's on top of the shelves in the lean to, but you know what I mean...]
My sister has sent me pictures of family in Italy today, I'm missing the scents, but the sounds round here are remarkably similar, lots of cooing pigeons. I think that's one reason i stayed here so long..
I think I need a holiday..have booked to get y hair cut next week, it's growing back apace, so it's time for the chop, or a trim at least.

Nice to see you back Nelski, shame it wasn't because you WERE in Antigua...have a lovely tourist week! SO, hope you're doing OK...Gers, accidental shoes? [snort..] AOD, if the bread is no good and he does start ranting, throw a loaf at his head...TA, much cheaper to buy the cork lights on ebay [3 - 5 of them for less than a tenner] and clean a bottle. If you go to a pub or something, ask for empty bottles and give them a clean [ I got a free nice one from a cocktail bar a few months ago] or if you have friends that like gin...Jackie, sounds like it was fun :) I went to Lacock a few years ago and had a fantastic apple pie ice cream from a really small shop..Well done dumpling, you are now all technologied up while not forgetting your roots [ bacon sarnie...that's a brilliant idea, don't mind if I do!] Hey Holly, hope your chest is better than mine :)

Having a strange day today.....everyone just hanging around and wondering what's for dinner......OH is cooking something at present, probably nothing for me as we had words this morning over his eye drops.....will get something!

    Take care everybody

Afternoon folks. Change of plan this morning. I ended up going to the Northern Star dance competition as youngest DGD was performing in the Junior Cabaret section. She was brilliant and came 3rd out of 27, so another medal for the collection. Rather than sit there all day watching other people's children we decided to come home at lunchtime and go back at 5.15 for middle DGD's 2 ballet sections.

So I am supposedly putting the spare couple of hours to good use here in readiness for the decorating of the hall, stairs and landing due to start Monday. I have attacked the bookcase at the bottom of the stairs and been quite ruthless (for me!) A boxful to go back in, another boxful for binning and a third to give to DD as they have a charity book stall where she works. I have accumulated far too many cookery books and some haven't been opened since I bought them! Time to get rid of the ones I don't use. I still have a small number of my dad's favourite books and, even though I never read them, I could never part with them.

Tomorrow, before returning for the second day of the competition I must empty the big ottoman on the landing. It's jampacked full of photo albums from our travels when life was different. They will have to be piled up in the bedroom.

So maybe on Monday I might get to Ilkley for more bottles. Incidentally TAFF, someone makes these for the AGE UK charity shop and they sell them for £3. They look lovely when lit and for £3 it's not worth making them myself. Plus the money goes to a good cause! I must look out for my fellow golden oldies!

Now to clean at the back of the empty bookcase - eek! Don't know when that last got moved! Take care all xx ps nice to have you back NELSKI, take care.

Tat's a really good price TA, they don't go for less than a fiver round here...
Am currenty watching Salvage Hunters and salivating over vintage items. Mostly the sofa won today, although I did move remaning compost to bed ready for siting the new one, two loads of washing done and on the line, dishes done, breakfast cooked [ to my wobbly thighed shame, I made the half-full english] and eaten for dinner [ or lunch depending on where you are].

Afternoon all. I went to knit n nattertoday and stayed until 2pm. Got a lift home which was great. Had a roll for lunch and then a nana nap.

John is cooking tea which is jersey royals, quiche and salad.

Marie thanks for thinking of John. Eight weeks post op and back to normal I think. Nelski and taff take it steady. Hi Dumpling.

Well hugs to all and have a restful evening.
