Sharonk1403, do you live in this house or elsewhere?0
-
Ive never been so stressed out to be honest. I wish my mum hadnt left us this house.
From the day she died nothing has been straight forward and i feel like im in over my head with it all because my sister and my aunty havent got a clue on what to do so its kind of been left to me to sort.
I will go through all the paperwork and gather as much information as i can ...i wish it was just as straightforward as going into the bank and applying for a mortgage haha nothing is ever that easy though is it
Again thankyou all so much for helping me on this matter i knoe i havent got a lot of information to go on but use have made things bit more clearer than it was yesterday0 -
I live elsewhere amother joe .. my mum wanted me to move in with my sister but il be honest its not the best option for me.
Ive told my sister to put the house on the market and sell bit she refuses to do it . The house is all we have left of mum so its not an option for my sister to sell it.0 -

She may not have a choice, if any of your benefits are means tested then even if you gift your share of the house to your sister, you are still going to be deemed to have £30k worth of assets, so you are likely to see them reduced or lost entirely
It rather sounds like your mother trying to control where you lived after her death has gone badly wrong. Had she simply left the house to your sister then all your sister would need to do is raise a mortgage to cover the existing one.0 -
We all thought it would be as easy as my sister getting a mortgage to cover the existing one but the more ive looked into things ive realised its not as easy as that. But then again this whole situation hasnt been easy so why would the mortgage and house be easy.0

that still needs answering.
how old is the sister, and income.
Do you own or rent?0 -
My aunty is named on probate as executor. In both mum and dads will me and my sister are named as beneficiaries
My sister is 39 works full time has been in her current employment for over 10 years her income is 13000 a year i think
I rent my house from a housing association0 -
Why if you are doing all the work did you get auntie on the probate when you could have been named?
With £13k income mortgages will be an issue, does she get extra from benefits.0 -
£13k is a low wage and she will struggle to get a mortgage on that.
How much is the house valued at?
Your sister really wants it all by the sounds of it.
Has she even considered you?0 -
I was told because my aunty is named as executor on the will and is still alive she would have to be named on probate
I think its more the fact my sister doesnt want to let the house go due to everything my mum went through to keep it with my dad giving her a dogs life (thats another story)
So she wants to carry out my mums wishes
Could it not be a case of getting a mortgage for 35k and paying the other conpany off .. or possibly get a personal loan for that amount0
