What to declare?

Hello,
I have a sharedealing account with the Halifax where I have invested in an accumulative fund. I would like to know what I declare in my HMRC Self-Assessment form. Is it the annual growth in value or the profit if and when I sell some of the shares / bonds?
Thanks in advance

If you did this in an ISA wrapper you wouldn't report anything. You can put £20k into an ISA - had you asked before Apr 5th you could have wrapped up £40k!
Outside the wrapper you tell the tax man the value of dividends received (even if re-invested) and any capital gains or losses as a result of selling.
You can earn £2k in divis before you're liable for tax - it was £5k but is now £2k.

If it is outside an ISA then Halifax will quite soon issue a tax certificate (its the last entry under Valuation and Statements).
Scroll down to Dividends Distributions From UK Authorised Unit Trusts And Open Ended Investment Companies and you will see the equalisation payment and separately the dividend payable.
Since you hold Acc Units you can ignore the equalisation figure which will only be there in the 1st year you bought units. The dividend figure you both declare on your self assessment tax form as income and also, for your own future records, add that amount to your acquisition cost for those units.0
