Ebico from prepay to credit meter

I requested to be moved to a credit meter with ebico from PAYG.

They arranged it, got an appointment booked, someone turned up to fit one, but they brought a smart meter which wasn't compatible with my setup.

I have E7 prepay meter with storage heaters, with 5 wires in to / out of the meter, and the meter they brought could only have 4.

They went away without fitting any or saying they'd be back to a different one.

I phone the install company and they said E7 isn't currently supported by smart meters and they'd not be back to fit an alternative normal credit meter.

Are ebico obligated to fit a standard credit meter? Because clearly they were willing to have me as a credit customer by arranging a new meter, the whole purpose was to get cheaper credit rates then move to an even cheaper provider after the credit meter was fitted.

    A supplier is not obligated to provide you with a credit meter, but in this instance it does seem they have agreed to do so.

    What reason did they give when you called them, and they refused to return to fit the credit meter you requested (and they had previously agreed to provide)?

    I suggest you raise a complaint following the suppliers complaint procedure - feedback on this supplier tends to be extremely favourable in regards to customer service.

    Right now, meters with 5 terminals are pretty much out of stock country wide, so they're probably unable to source one for you.

    Understand it's a huge pain for you and them
