Problem with Outlook

Good morning

I am having a problem seeing my folders in Microsoft Outlook. I have them in alphabetical order but I cannot scroll down to the folders towards the end of the alphabet and when I somehow do get down to them I then cannot get access to my folders at the start of the alphabet. This only started happening this morning.

I signed out and in again but the problem still exists.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Val :)

Try running the Outlook Repair Tool.

That does depend on what you mean by 'cannot get access' - do you see the folders there and just get an error when trying to access them?

First thing to check is do all the folders show up online (using web mail). (Unless, of-course, all your folders refer to local storage but I'll assume not!)

It is a case that I cannot see the folders. I can see folders from my Inbox down to 'G' but I cannot scroll down to the folders after that.

    Thanks

Probably just a temporary sync problem between the Microsoft Outlook program and mail server(s). Always worth checking with webmail first to ensure the folders are all still there. e.g. at https://www.outlook.com (** or whoever is storing your email **)

If its all ok at the mail server(s) then I'd wait at least a day...and let it sort itself out, otherwise... outlook data file repair, check windows update, check outlook update etc.

    2 repair options :-
    1. data files https://www.windowscentral.com/how-fix-pst-and-ost-data-files-outlook
    2. outlook program ityself (depends on version, e.g. is outlook part of office 365?)

PS. probably a temporary problem. I advise checking the mail is all there first via webmail with whomever is storing your mail. e.g. https://www.outlook.com, https://www.gmail.com, https://www.yahoo.com, https://www.bt.com etc

Switch to outlook.com (or alternate) most people don't need outlook office any more. KISS

  • Your problem is quiet similar from mine the only difference is that I started getting pst file not found error. I don’t have any idea where is my pst file gone because I haven’t relocated it anywhere nor I have deleted them.

When I started looking for the fixes, I got this informative post and after trying it’s fixes I have overcome this error. so it’s my recommendation to try them
