After Service, Cracking/Peeling Around heating controls?
Hi after a full service on a Renault Clio my wife noticed some white bits around the heating controls, on checking closer it was cracking/ peeling? We had cleaned the car the day before & noticed nothing different. Just wondering if so how would this happen during a full service? Nothing like this has happened before after a service & we use the same garage. Where would we stand with the garage in question? How best to repair without making things worse?
Appreciate any help

It wouldn't.Nothing like this has happened before after a service & we use the same garage. Where would we stand with the garage in question?
It's a coincidence, you could stand inside the garage and ask them to quote for replacing the part if you really want to stand somewhere.
Maybe you cleaned it too vigorously or the products you used were to aggressive.0 -
Hi thx for quick reply. Maybe I loosened something & not noticed. But definitely not noticed any sign of plastic starting to peel before hand.joe2cool0

It won't be the plastic itself "peeling" - it'll be the coating on top of the plastic. It's purely a cosmetic issue, caused by time and UV.
How old's the car?
The garage won't even have touched the heater controls as part of a service, except maybe to turn the fan speed down if it was left blasting out. If the service included a coolant change, or checking the aircon refrigerant, then they may have changed the temp to test heater/aircon output.0 -
Hi thx yes it shows white underneath. I guess the best option of repair is to replace. Is it possible to touch up & still look OK?joe2cool0
