Telephone savings

I'm saving roughly £20 a month now after I read about Telediscount on this site. My husband is Japanese and rings his family at least once a week for about an hour each time. We were using NTL at 9p per minute but with Telediscount its 1p per minute at weekends so we've cut the cost substantially.

  • I saw an offer on the TV shopping channel Ideal World for a box from a company called "Talk" which diverts your call through the cheapest network. You still use your existing telephone company BT, ntl, Telewest etc but you only pay them line rental while your calls are paid to Talk. They were selling 2 boxes for £9.95 but you got cash back of £5 for the first 2 months (i.e £10 cashback). The administrative costs for them sending you bills etc is £1 per month. Calls appeared to be a lot cheaper this way. I have not found this offer elsewhere. Anyone know anything more about this "Talk Saver" offer?

By switching to telediscount , I am now saving £7.20 a week

Sounds like Talksense, https://www.talksense.co.uk Never used them myself, but friends have, and have been very happy with them.

They also have a deal now similar to BTs 6p for an hour offering, the benefit being it is available for cable customers too!
    Free is my favourite price!

I use an Orange contract phone for all my calls. I was convinced I was using the cheapest overrider (First Telecom) to make my calls.

First Telecom charge 2.35p/min (inc. VAT) but 18866 charge just 0.5p/min (inc. VAT) (plus 1p connection charge).

I can also call many overseas destinations for just 1p/min (plus 1p connection charge).

    Just crazy unbeatable prices!
