Hoping this is something that can be done but generally looking for advice.
I have a number of accounts with Natwest, current, savings etc and an ISA with Halifax but i am looking for an account that will provide a debit card that i can transfer money into as a "spending money" account. I don't need an overdraft (ideally i don't even want one) on this account however it also needs to not have a minimum monthly deposit as it won't be where my salary goes. Does such an account exist or has anyone found a better way of doing this?
Thanks

Maybe you can open a Halifax current account!1

I use Monzo for exactly this! Transfer my ‘spending money’ out of my main account each month and use it just for that. Debit card transactions and cash withdrawal. I like that any card transaction shows immediately in my balance, it doesn’t take days and days to show up.1

Why not just open a TSB current account, set to paperless and set up a standing order for £500 a month to it from your existing current account?
It would take seconds to make a faster payment back to the existing current account of your "non pocket money".1 -
Theres plenty of basic accounts (pretty much every bank has them) which dont need any minimum deposits or direct debits, which in turn offer no benefits like interest & rewards.
In terms of minimum deposits, this doesnt need to be salary. You can just transfer cash from one account & straight back again.1 -
Starling and Monzo - the two main app based banks - are good as spending cards because they are easy to use and you won't have to remember two sets of banking details. They also track your spending nicely and are cheap to use abroad, so lots of value as a second card.
Otherwise I'd probably try first direct. Something with good customer service and online access would be most important to me for a spebding account.1 -

Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.1
