switching and making a joint account

Hello,
My partner and I are looking to open a joint account where all our direct debits will come out of. However, at the same time, I am looking to switch my own bank account because I am currently receiving no incentives to keep it open.
We want to keep separate current accounts for our own salaries and expenditure and the joint account will simply serve as a pot where all our joint bills come out of.
I was looking at the FirstDirect account for switching my own account to but will I be able to open a joint account as well? The problem is, in order to get cashback on this, I need to transfer all of my direct debits to this account. However, the new joint account will be used for this anyway. Therefore, I will just be opening up two accounts with First Direct and receiving no reward.
My question is: Is there a way I can open up a personal account and a joint one, yet still manage to receive some cashback/switching incentive?
I feel as though I am going round in circles a bit.
Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum,
Why don't you open a donor account first? That is what I always do. Open up a donor account and then use that to switch and you can receive your switch incentive. The donor account can be with any bank (although if you open up a donor account with a bank you are currently a customer of, then it will be far quicker). I don't believe First Direct require DDs to be part of the switch to receive the incentive (but please double check the terms and conditions as I have not)I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

You might consider a Santander 123 Lite or a Natwest Rewards?
