Food for thought there, Fire Fox, thanks.

There was a track in place when we bought the house but it meant that there was a gap at sides of the curtains as you looked at them, as the track was placed for curtains to fall to the window ledges. It's a squared, rather than a round bay. But I'll look into thermal blinds. We chose wooden venetian blinds as we are very overlooked at the front (people on courses at a training centre, standing outside having coffee and ciggie and with nothing better to do than stare in, lol).

Re the heated throw etc. unfortunately, I'm one of those weird people who gets a buzzy, fuzzy effect with such things. Strange, but true, and a bit worrying. So, I just use normal throws.

Maybe I will get myself a stylish bobble hat for kitchen use. As long as I remember to remove it when serving guests, lol.

    Seriously, thanks for your posts.

A curtain track will bend around a bay window just fine.

Finding a decent curtain rail/track that will take the weight of a heavy curtain is not so easy. I also have a square bay and found the bendy flexible tracks less than ideal. Ended up getting a stainless steel rail custom made using 1" polished tubing. Going to a stainless steel fabricator was a lot cheaper than using one of the local curtain stores. Total cost was around £50.

For the OP's problem door, how about sticking some self adhesive velcro strips across the top of the door and stitching a corresponding strip to a thermal drape. I have a couple of blackout drapes that I use in one room hung using velcro all round both a window and a door.
Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Apparently the professionals fit a track or a pole with a 'return' so it sits better against the walls. Even then they still use 'hook and loop tape' (=Velcro) or other attachments at the sides for a neat finish.

It seems to me that many of us need two or more window treatments for different conditions or for different problems. My current home is very different to yours (upper floor flat) .... yet quite similar (city centre goldfish bowl).

You come over as open to ideas and willing to research, so I am sure you will find the right way forward. :)
