Prc certificate

I bough t a property about 8 years ago via a mortgage, it is a cornish style house that comes under the PRC rules. However when i bought it I never knoew anything about it nor did the mortgage company say anything about it. Anyway I have now paid the mortgage off and want to possibly sell it, but people ask about the PRC certification, how do i find out if my property has a certificate or not as I dont want to go down the lines of doing a survery etc... if i can obtain one. (I bought my property from a private seller).
if you can help or advise that woud be grand as I dont seem to be getting anywhere with my serarches

We obtained our PRC certificate from the local authority. It was £135 I believe. Our estate agent who we were selling the house with helped with this- they emailed the relevant person copying us in to the email. We paid the fee and received the certificates around 2 weeks later.

If your house used to be a council house, or a housing association house, then you can ask them if there is a PRC certificate. They are under no obligation to provide one. They may not have done the work. Or they may have done their own work and not got a PRC certificate (because it's useless to them).
If the PRC repair work was done by a previous owner, then you need to contac them and get the PRC Certificate. I'm afraid there is no registry for PRC certificates that you can ask for a copy.
If you can't get a PRC Certificate from anyone who used to own the house then you have to get a new one, which will involve an intrusive structural survey. There is no way around that

The only other alternative is to sell to a cash buyer only.
