Money transfer from help2save account never arrived in my current account. Which bank is responsible

Hello all. Im going round in circles so any advice is appreciated on what to do next.

On 24th April I did an online withdrawal of 200 pounds from my government help to save account. This was sent to my current account with a 3-5 working day time to clear. The money never arrived though.

The short version of what happened next is multiple calls to help to save and to my current account Halifax. Both say its the other persons responsibility and they cant do anything. Im being royally fobbed off by both sides.
Managers at help to save finance team have confirmed my bank details were correct and a similar withdrawal last month worked fine.

Ive sent complaints to both sides. HRMC says it will look at/respond in 20 working days  and halifax havent responded at all.

Any ideas on which side should be doing something and how i get them to actually do it. 200 pounds is nit a loss I can cope with.

Thanks everyone

  • You'll need to wait for a final response and if not resolved then escalate to the ICO

    Thankyou very much.

I will see what happens then refer to ICO.
If anything saying that to someone in the meantime might make them interested in helping.

What we do without these forums eh x
