Debt Recovery Plus - parking Charge

Hello, I am new to this forum, so apologies if I haven't completed this forum correctly.
I have moved addressed and forgot to update the DVLA. Completely my fault.
I recently received a letter from DRP on the 30 April 2019 advising that my debt has been passed onto them from UK Parking Control Ltd. I didn't receive any letters from UK Parking as they would have went to my old address. I also haven't received any evidence of me staying longer than allowed.
DRP are now demanding £160. Should I pay them to avoid the hassle?

Depends what you consider hassle AND how much £160 is worth to you in real terms.
You really should read around the forum in regards to DRP but to give you a heads up, they are NOTHING! toothless debt beggars who like to send out nasty letters with big red scary writing on it hoping your a sucker who will pay just because they say you should pay, well that is A LIE, you don't have to pay anyone anything UNLESS you are taken to Court, lose and the Judge orders you to pay.
Start by reading around the forum on the many threads on UKPC and learn more about the game you are now in. Then make your decision whether to fightback or be one of the suckers who gives in and pays.0 -

First thing is to inform UKPC of your current address as the KEEPER. Otherwise you may find you have a CCJ to your old address.
Second, is to send UKPC a SAR to provide the information to you of their claim.
Thirdly, DRP are only money bandits and scammers who mean nothing as they are totally powerless and they lie.
IGNORE DRP and never contact them.

YOU DO NOT OWE £160 ..... TO MONEY SCAMMERS0 -
Thanks Beamerguy, I wont get a CCJ from UKPC because they have sold the "debt" to DRP who have my new address from the DVLA as my driving license was updated.0
-
It's your V5C that needs updating when you move, along with your driving licence separately. Assume you meant V5C!Ifte.hussain1 wrote: »DRP who have my new address from the DVLA as my driving license was updated.0 -

thats complete and utter BS
UKPC have not , repeat NOT sold the debt to DRPL , they are not allowed to under the terms of their KADOE contract with the DVLA
your V5C and DRIVING LICENCE should have been updated with the DVLA
DRPL did not get you current address from the DVLA database due to your driving licence, more likely they did a trace on you, possibly through electoral rolls etc
DRPL cannot take you to court and cannot obtain a CCJ, but UKPC can do so , because UKPC still hold the alleged debt and always will , if they file it against the old address , it could become a default CCJ , which has happened numerous times
none of these companies can access your driving licence data0 -
Don't be daft. No-one is deluded enough to PAY DRP here!DRP are now demanding £160. Should I pay them to avoid the hassle?
WRONG. On all counts...DRP have not asked the DVLA (they can't), and UKPC have not 'sold' them the debt (not allowed) and your driving licence is not how to change the address of registration of a car. Are you still in breach of DVLA rules, if so get the car registration address updated or you will get a real fine!Ifte.hussain1 wrote: »Thanks Beamerguy, I wont get a CCJ from UKPC because they have sold the "debt" to DRP who have my new address from the DVLA as my driving license was updated.
All the time two addresses remain in UKPC's data files, you are very much in danger of the old address being dredged up for the court claim.
Explained here, easy to send to UKPC's Data Protection email in minutes (found in their data privacy page):

If you do you may be funding white slavery, the import of class a drugs and fake Nikes at your local market. They are lliars, cheats, conmen, and fraudsters, get you MP on board.
They are obviously trying to scam you, Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.
Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Thank you Redex, so what's the relationship between DRP and UKPC?0

NO relationship.
DRP are simply sewer rats who waste their time for many parking scammers
As DRP offer a "no win, no fee" service, why should UKPC waste time and money when there are idiots like DRP who will do it for them.
That's it0 -
They are just tedious debt collectors. Read post #4 of the NEWBIES thread.Ifte.hussain1 wrote: »Thank you Redex, so what's the relationship between DRP and UKPC?
