    Or use another approved switching site.
    Energylinx pays more cashback than the Cheap Energy Club (if the provider offers cashback) and that company is used by the Citizens Advice Bureau to provide its independent switching site as well.
    The how to claim cashback is shown at the top of the page linked to below.

    Al;so some companies - Bulb, Utility Point among others have referral schemes which offer more cashback money to you. So if you go with one of them based on the pricing from any good price comparison site then look for a referral first on the MSE referrals board https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=42

    ...

    That probably doesn't actually help.

    There are a range of ofgem accredited comparison sites to choose from, but the CEC is not one of them.
    The CEC is not primarily a comparison service, but an ongoing monitoring and alerting service, advising when there is a better deal to switch to
    (so people don't need to keep regularly checking comparison sites themselves)

    If the account is locked "switch in progress", it still cannot be updated manually should someone switch via other means.

    @Benight

    But if the OP wants to switch supplier today then "Hoping CE staff actually fix the issue" will not fix their issue on the CEC website as of now.

    It is obvious from my many years on this forum that using the CEC is not the best way forward as trying to get in touch with them is becoming hard. Only an email address which may or may not elicit a fix.

    My advice is of the practical type, don't expect CEC to swoop in and fix your issues. Don't really on them. Explore the other options.

    The OP doesn't need to use CEC to switch and needs to be made aware of that.
